This symbol is stenciled onto military aircraft and has been since at least the years just after World War II. It points toward a mechanism designed to allow for the release of a helpless pilot. It is usually located near the canopy, and is always prominently displayed.
Christmas always bring it to my mind.
Christ’s birth as a man is the mechanism GOD used to rescue me when I was helpless and slumped over the controls of my life. Through this latch Jesus opened the canopy of my heart, reached inside and took hold of me, and lifted me out into the open so I could live, truly live in the wide open space beyond the tiny world in which I was trapped.
For this I will ever be thankful and indebted to my Rescuer. My freedom is what makes me sing. It is what makes Christmas merry!
END OF SECOND QUARTER
Our 2nd quarter ends this Friday, December 16th and grades will be finalized. You may print these out on Tuesday after 3:00 P.M.
LOST AND FOUND
Please have your student check the lost and found racks. Lots of jackets, sweaters, lunchboxes, and water bottles have been left since the beginning of the school year. Anything left after Thursday, December 15th will be given to charity.
Please do your best to have your child here for math as we will be completing our Chapter 4 Test on Wednesday.
All students should have chosen a poem or selection for their oral presentations in January. If you have not given me a copy please do so this week. Each student must memorize their selection, adding expression and gestures, and be ready to present their poems upon our January return to class.
CLASS CHRISTMAS PARTY & SERVICE PROJECT
Our class Christmas party will be on Thursday, December 15 from 1:30-3:00. We are planning to share Christmas carols and our snacks with our honorable brothers and sisters at Carrington Pointe. Please come and help us to share Christ’s love with our neighbors.
This month we have been loving and serving our “Secret Angel”. Our expressions of love have taken many forms: prayers, pieces of fruit, cookies, candies, notes and cards have all been seen on our desks and on those of our classmates. We look forward to spreading God’s love and kindness to our classmates during the rest of the year as well.
