FCS AUCTION:

Be praying and thinking about donations you can make for the annual Fresno Christian School Auction which will be held on March 17, 2012 at 5:30 P.M. You may purchase a table for your friends and family through the FCS office. Or, plan on making your favorite dessert and donating it for auction!

Please have your student check the lost and found racks. Lots of jackets, sweaters,  lunch boxes, and water bottles have been left since the beginning of the school year.

SPIRIT WEAR:

Every Friday we encourage all of our classmates to wear a FCS shirt to demonstrate school spirit. Each of the classes will be rated on the percentage of students wearing spirit wear to build the enthusiasm.

MEMORY VERSE:

Ephesians 6:13-17  (Two weeks to study. Test next week.)

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Book Report/Presentation Due Thursday March 8th.

1) After choosing and reading a book, each student will select a book report container. The container could be a manila envelope, a can, paper bag, hat or anything else that might be appropriate for and connect to the book. Students will decorate their containers to convey some of the major details, elements, or themes found in the books.

When the containers are complete, students will go to work on the contents of the containers. Please include the following inside your container:

  • Eight objects that have a connection to the story. It could be any object that has a connection to the story. For example, you could have a baseball in your container if you read a book about Jackie Robinson.

The next part of the project will be the student presentation. Each student will present a “Book in a…” project to the class. In the presentation, the student will explained the connection of the container to the story, conduct a show and tell about the eight things, and then shared information about three of the book’s literary elements — setting, characters, conflicts, climax, or resolution. The presentation should be more than 2 minutes long and no longer than 5 minutes.

2) Response to Literature

  1. Fill out the attached outline on Response to Literature.
  2. Type your response to literature and turn this in with your container. Use Times or Times New Roman and it needs to be a 12pt font. Please double space.
