Dear Parents,                                    April 22, 2013

Thanks for all your help on our Zoo trip. It was fun!!!! Can you believe we are almost “first graders”?

This week is a very busy week in “K”.  We will begin learning all about God’s ocean creatures!  We’ll start an Ocean Book that you will love to hear your child read!  Our character trait is FAITH.  We will also begin listening to a special chapter book named “What Would Jesus Do?”  Ask your child about what he learns about  “growing in Jesus”.

Wednesday, May 8, is Teacher Inservice Day.  All kids come from 8:15 – 11:50.  Thank you!

OPEN HOUSE is May 9. This is a fun evening of looking at our classroom, eating cookies, and playing on the playground for a longgggggg recess!  ALL are welcome!  We love showing off our great school!!!  We open at 7:00 and finish up at 8:30.  Come visit any time!

We are looking forward to the Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 10. Moms come at 10:30. If you are unable to come you can send a grandma or a special friend.

“K” Graduation is Tuesday, May 21. Kids come in the morning at 8:15.  Graduation Ceremony begins at 10:00.  All are welcome.  We have the ceremony at Northeast Church across the street and then come back to our campus for a “cookies and punch” reception.  Bring your camera and Kleenex!!

Wednesday, May 22, is our Witters Critters End Of The Year Swim Party at Presley’s house from 11:30 – 2:30.  I will give a map and more details at the Mother’s Tea.

Please note… May 22 is the LAST DAY of “K”. We do NOT come to school… we just go to the swim party.

Thanks for all your help and support!!

Mrs. Witters and your faithful Kindergartener!

Dear Parents,

EASTER BREAK: Easter Break will begin after school this Friday, March 22 and last through April 1. The Monday after Easter is still part of our break, with school resuming on Tuesday, April 2. May our families all be blessed and our faith strengthened as we take time to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice that was made for us and as we rejoice and celebrate our risen Savior, Jesus.

FIELD TRIP TO MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM: On Wednesday, April 24 all three classes of 5th and 6th graders will take two coach buses to Monterey to visit the Aquarium.  This trip will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about our science unit on oceanography and the habitats of sea life.  We now have all the chaperones we need for our class. No extra siblings or friends may be brought by the chaperones, however, according to the Aquarium.  We will leave school at 6:30 A.M. and return to school at 6:30 P.M.  We are looking forward to becoming Ocean Explorers!

ELEMENTARY CHOIR:  Attention choir parents: our first festival is Tuesday, March 19. We will load the bus at 2, travel to St. Therese (Maroa/Floradora) and sing in the 3:00 session. Our turn is at 3:30. You may pick up your child after they sing, or after the session is done, about 5:00. Please remember that no one may enter the church while a choir is singing, so if you are picking up your child early let me know. I will escort them to the lobby to meet you. Also, our choir attire will be here soon, so don’t forget to get the rest of the uniform. Boys: long sleeved, collared white shirt. Black pants (not jeans) Black shoes (not athletic) Black socks. Girls: white blouse or polo, short sleeved. Black, closed toe shoes. Black headband, any kind.

Thank you, Mrs. Ainley
