Happy Fall Everyone!! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I dont know about you but I am ready for some cool weather with camp fires and hot chocolate!!
We are so sorry about the pumpkin patch last week! I know the kids were disapointed, but I am glad most of them got to enjoy another pumpkin patch. Mr. Bennett, Mrs. Tally and I will be discussing what we can do in its place.
IMPORTANT: Mrs. Raymundo’s computer has been sick since last week. This weeks homework coming home will not have a newsletter on the top. I do not have all my files on this loaner computer and I do not have access to everyones email!
This week in Mrs. R’s Super Stars
Language Arts: This week our class will be looking at words ending with -all and -alk. We will continue on in our reading groups focusing on reading strategies, sight word practice, the job of an author and illustrator, setting, and main characters. Our groups are doing really well. The students will continue doing their word builders, and boy have we seen improvements!! For writing the kiddos will begin learning about writing about a place while still focusing on using all their writing rules. We are really practicing having them self edit their own paper to see if they can catch any mistakes.
Math: This week we will be taking our chapter 3 test on Tuesday. I will send home a review on Monday to do Monday night as homework. We will then move into chapter 4 learning about graphing and data
Bible: We will be learning about Gods Law
Science: We will continue on with our harvest theme and learning more about pumpkins.
Social Studies: We will be finishing up our changing world and comparing the past with the present. Then we will be moving into “We love our country”.
Operation Christmas Child: The shoe boxes are due November 7th. This is a wonderful opportunity to show the spirit of giving during the Christmas season. You can pack a shoe box with your child full of toys and necessities to send overseas to a child in need. You may include only brand new items. Suggested things to pack are toys, stuffed animals, school supplies, tooth brush and tooth paste, socks, and underwear. You may see more suggestions are samartianspurse.org. Please be sure to include an envelope with $7 for shipping and handling.
