Welcome to Kindergarten!  We are ready for a terrific year!  Thank you for loaning us your children.  We promise to love them, direct them, and encourage their learning.  We are excited!!!  You can expect a newsletter every Monday (Tuesday if we have a holiday). Please read these letters carefully. They will relate important information, dates, and many of the things that will be happening in our classroom each week.  We will be reviewing colors and shapes this week.  Please have your child wear the color-of-the-day.  Don’t buy new clothes for this!  Socks or hair bows are fine.

 

Tuesday – RED

Wednesday – YELLOW

Thursday – BLUE

Friday – BROWN

 

 

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

 

August 20th is Back to School Night at 7:00 p.m. Please make baby-sitting arrangements for your children.  This is a time for parents only.  Thank you for your cooperation.  We will have sign-up sheets for classroom helpers and room mothers that night.  Please think about how you might like to be involved.

 

SNACKS

 

Please send a SNACK with your child each day.  They will eat their snack at the beginning of recess (9:45).  We are asking that you not send candy or junk food items.

ALL DAY students need to bring a LUNCH and another SNACK for the afternoon recess. PLEASE bring a pillow pet or blanket (to leave at school) for rest time after lunch.

Next Monday we will begin Show-N-Tell.  Your child’s Show-N-Tell day is circled below and will remain the same all year.  These are a few things you need to keep in mind when helping your child choose a Show-N-Tell item:

  1. Please bring only ONE show-n-tell item.
  2. Please put the item in a paper sack with the child’s name on it.  (This keeps it a surprise!)
  3. Please do NOT allow your child to bring a toy.  Help them choose a photograph, craft, book or other item too share.  Also help them think of clues they can give to help us guess what their item is.

We do celebrate birthdays during the year. If your child has a food allergy or a health concern, please let us know immediately.
